Our habits, whether we realise it or not, forms the basis of our life. They determine happiness and success for us in ways beyond we readily see. Many a times the things that bring us misery are habits: unnoticeable but strong routines that we may have developed early in life and that continue to eat away our happiness over the course of years. These habits are exactly what we’ll talk about today, as the ones that sabotage growth for an individual.
Isolating Yourself- Humans are social beings as they say. This is why a community or a network means a lot to men, even if they realise it or not. Isolating oneself breaks off these crucial ties that humans need in life to be happy and satisfied. The most potent antidepressant known to man—the adoring support of people who care about us—is lost when we conceal our suffering and isolate ourselves.
Not Speaking Up- Why is assertiveness so important? To build healthy communication. Choosing to keep quiet, you often end up concealing the world of thoughts, ideas, opinions and motives you have within you. This puts you back on many pedestals in life. Not asking the questions you seek answers to will only keep you in ignorance and darkness, blocking wisdom, connections and potential growth for you.
Self Believe- A whole new world of manifestation and blessings open upto you the moment you decide to instil belief in yourself. You are worthy of all the blessings that have been bestowed upon you and you believe in your ability to attract blessings your way- be it with hard work, your calibre or your talent, you believe in yourself, and this very belief becomes the self-confidence you need in life to advance forward.
Going with the flow- The moment you say that life is happening around you without your active involvement in it, you give away the power of control from within you. Man is the master of their own life. With every change comes an opportunity to grow or to learn. This is why humans ought to make the conscious choice of being with the flow, setting the pace and making choices actively in life- be it the most difficult ones.
Over promising- You drain yourself with challenges that are beyond your physical capabilities, bringing you only a waste of time and efforts. Keep working hard on your goals but without making grand announcements of it. The greatest leaders swear by this rule- Work hard in silence, let your success be the noise.
